First Snow!

Well, winter is here, finally. Although the snow only lasted an hour, people are already whining and panicking about the coming months. Personally I love snow (picture: hug a snowflake!). I wish I could hug each and every snowflake that falls. I know that everyone loved snow as a child because of the potential for missing school, but adults have responsibilities that magnify with the accumulation. So, to try to cheer up those sourpusses, and in honor of the season's first snow, I've written a top-ten list:

Top Ten Things About Snow (as a grown-up)
  1. You don't have to worry about dandruff when it's snowing
  2. You can call in sick with SAD
  3. You can watch teenagers slip on ice in their stupid baggy jeans
  4. You can watch older people slip on ice... nevermind
  5. Finally, you have an excuse to wear that wooly-mammoth fur you bought half-price at Macy's
  6. There's always a chance the pipes will burst at work!
  7. You get to watch Easterners and other transplants panic about one or two inches of snow
  8. You get to see stupid Chicagoans, who by the way have been around snow their whole lives and won't shut up about how hardcore their "windy city" is and go on and on about how tough they are for experiencing brutal winters with several concurrent days of sub-zero temperatures, fail at driving on ice each and every freaking time it snows, and sometimes wreck their car driving 10 mph. ARGHHH
  9. There is no #9, I'm done
  10. Go read #8 again.
