Come outside...

It's 3:30 in the morning, and I'm using my diminished judgment as an excuse to post some poetry.

Extrapolate the course into unknown waters
I've been saved before, a gracious feat, but
is my transformation not yet complete?

overcome again the life you constantly make
founded in sand with nothing real at stake
somebody needs to come remind you nothing
is changing while you sit there waiting for them

smiling down the street at every little sight
Jesus put it in my heart that everything's alright
even with the world crashing, we know we're still okay
doing what we can but soon there comes a day

when the weight of our uncertainty
will fly like the wind through these trees
in the summer sun when everyone
put down their weapons and words
stopped and saw just how absurd
our petty arguments were won

it's safe now, we can come out and play
like the children we were supposed to emulate
quick to forget any wrongs,
eager to be taught some new songs
to sing forever as we walk home together
